Obama is the little golden child of the left – half well-trained speaker, half Hollywood. They stare up at him with these eyes that glaze over in adoration. They chant his name, make objects in his image of all kinds, circle his head with light and name him their new Savior.
While the cultish behavior makes me physically ill, what infuriates me is that his supporters don’t even see how he talks down to them. How he treats them like little pets who just need to be stroked, reassured, smiled at and played around with in a few jokes. It’s insulting, or it should be.
It’s repulsive to watch the behavior, the physical gestures trained to convey certain things on a subconscious level, training many people don’t even know exists. Then to listen to the sickeningly simple verbal manipulations that a teenager with one year of classical logic could spot. The extremely excessive repetition of certain words; forward… change… are obvious if you’re not part of the cult, but the followers don’t see it because they start to inject the words in everyday conversation, just like their leaders.
When they expect objection, they let their people know that lies will be coming from their opposers. That people will attempt to convince them not to believe in ‘the dream.’ Preparing them to disbelieve any words that contradict or bring into question the truth of their Savior. Because they, as all good cult members must, know they are on a mission, truly moving forward with progress toward the dream.
When they cannot deflect an argument as a lie, they deflect it as a personal attack. They only disagree with the Savior because of what he looks like, because of their envy, because of their hatred, their bigotry toward him personally. Of course, they reason, it must be that, because they ‘have the dream,’ and the only reason anyone would disagree is because they lie or they hate them and their Savior and want to keep ‘the dream’ from them.
But what can you do? His party takes advantage of some of the poorest and most uneducated segments of society, promises them all sorts of things, talks about a better life, creates utopian dreams and fantasy, and speaks to them in simple language to continue to keep them in that weakened position.
It’s job security. The left relies on perpetuating the ignorance of the disadvantaged, and in that they are like leeches upon those who are already without much to spare. If his people started learning about personal finance, then business finance and taxation, and then international monetary systems… well then, they would start questioning.
Then they’d start learning more. Understanding local economics, then state, then national, then international, and soon they’d start to understand how it’s all inter-connected. By then, they wouldn’t be his followers anymore. They would have probably started building their own wealth, starting a business and building it, getting involved in learning to provide their own job instead of looking for one.
Now they’ve become not only someone who doesn’t follow him… but now they’re the enemy of the left. Because the left NEEDS a Boogeyman on the right to help keep their people close. Now they’ve become a person who isn’t poor and desperate, a person who is middle or higher in income, a person who understands business finance and economics, who starts to disagree and suggest different ways, and now a person who is no longer welcome in their party because they’ve become the Boogeyman.
Then they spin it into ‘wealth corrupts,’ just look at the nice poor person who became rich, who stopped believing in our utopian dream, who became a dissenter, moved to the dark side, is now the Boogeyman. When the reality is that by becoming rich they learned about money and economics and the lie of the left was revealed, but there is no room for people who know the lie in the left, unless they are the type who want to continue and further the lie. If you want to shout from the rooftops “No! Don’t believe the lie. They are trying to hurt you, to keep you there. You are a prisoner!” … then you are the Boogeyman.
What way could there ever be to end it – except with better education, more involved parents, and a society that stops brainwashing children.
Is there a way? I really don’t know, but I do know that watching the creep-show makes me a very queasy-feeling boogeyman.
The right has it’s issues, but ultimately they favor a strong economic and business environment, and encourage personal wealth. While I do not identify with either main party, it doesn’t take much to assert which party has a more nefarious goal. Even if you take the stereotype of the right that the left defines as people who are only concerned with making people wealthy and increases new business, and compare it to the people on the left that are concerned with keeping people ignorant and in poverty… it doesn’t take much to see which is more hurtful toward people.
But don’t take my word for it. Just listen to James Carville, campaign manager for Bill Clinton and political talking-head:
Ideologies aren’t all that important. What’s important is psychology.
The Democratic constituency is just like a herd of cows. All you have to do is lay out enough silage and they come running. That’s why I became an operative working with Democrats. With Democrats all you have to do is make a lot of noise, lay out the hay, and be ready to use the ole cattle prod in case a few want to bolt the herd.
Eighty percent of the people who call themselves Democrats don’t have a clue as to political reality.
What amazes me is that you could take a group of people who are hard workers and convince them that they should support social programs that were the exact opposite of their own personal convictions. Put a little fear here and there and you can get people to vote any way you want.
The voter is basically dumb and lazy. The reason I became a Democratic operative instead of a Republican was because there were more Democrats that didn’t have a clue than there were Republicans.
Truth is relative. Truth is what you can make the voter believe is the truth. If you’re smart enough, truth is what you make the voter think it is. That’s why I’m a Democrat. I can make the Democratic voters think whatever I want them to.
Maybe one day, one person at a time, the blinders can come off.
