On the theory of one race

On the theory of one race

There I found myself, in the unfortunate position of stumbling into a conversation with a Scientian (my word).

You know who I mean.

Stereotypically, they are the atheist type who claims they have no religion, are completely anti-establishment as relates to any formalized religion, are prone to outright mock the ‘fantasy’ of religion, and maybe they say they believe in ‘spirituality alone’ or other such similar things.

But then they start talking, and they eventually bring the subject around to science, and then you see what their real religion is.

The scientists they love are as Gods to them, their words heard as ‘facts’ so golden and untouchable as to be gospel.

Above all, they tolerate no other Gods before their true Gods.

Obama the Divider

Obama the Divider

Obama is, like another recently movie popular president, willing to use his sacred cows to drive a wedge between the country without regard to the fact that it is pushing each side farther to the opposite edges and closer to a modern civil war. I’m of the opinion generally that Lincoln is severely overrated, particularly if you know the economic reasons for the abolition of slavery having very little to do with any high morality. Not that I approve of slavery, merely that I think Lincoln used the premise of a moral objective to advance a very different one and resulted in breaking our country in half.

When Israel Stands Alone

When Israel Stands Alone

Zechariah 12

An Oracle.

The word of the Lord concerning Israel: Thus says the Lord, who stretched out the heavens and founded the earth and formed the human spirit within: See, I am about to make Jerusalem a cup of reeling for all the surrounding peoples; it will be against Judah also in the siege against Jerusalem. On that day I will make Jerusalem a heavy stone for all the peoples; all who lift it shall grievously hurt themselves. And all the nations of the earth shall come together against it. … 9 And on that day I will seek to destroy all the nations that come against Jerusalem.

The USA was NEVER a Democracy

The USA was NEVER a Democracy

This is one of my biggest irritations with the general population. I know it’s clearly an educational issue, but it drives me so completely insane to hear people saying it -all the time- and everywhere. It doesn’t seem to matter who is saying it, people off the street, news anchors, politicians, businessmen, teachers, they all get it wrong.

If you don’t believe me just ask yourself when the last time you heard someone on television talking about how we are such a great Republic. The presidential election period is probably the most news heavy period that exists every four years, do you remember anyone talking about a Constitutional Republic?

Thankfully Distant Relations

Thankfully Distant Relations

I’m not a big ‘William the Conqueror’ fan. Yes, probably some of you out there wouldn’t care in the least about some guy who died over 900 years ago, but I do. We’re related, and I happen to believe that people are a little bit of all their ancestors.

Now I’m a direct line to Charlemagne, my 38th great-grandfather, and I don’t see that as a negative. Well, the biggest downside is that everyone seems to be related to him and I’m just not that much of a people lover. But William… well, I just can’t get over that Doomsday Book thing.

If more people read Jefferson

If more people read Jefferson

My middle school aged daughter recently remarked to me that they way our government talks sounds a lot like what she is reading about how Rome conquered the unwashed tribes of Britannia. Of course, she’s reading a book by Winston Churchill that our unwashed masses have never heard of. A little education goes a long way, and that made me start thinking about Thomas Jefferson and how sad it is that so few people have taken the opportunity to read some of what he had to say.
